A burst pipe is noisy, messy, and stressful. The first ten minutes decide how much damage you deal with later.
Do this immediately
- Shut the main water valve (usually near the meter or where the line enters the basement).
- Open a faucet at the lowest level to relieve pressure.
- If water is near electrical panels or baseboards, stay clear and shut power at the breaker only if you can do so safely from a dry area.
- Move furniture and put down towels / bins.
- Take quick photos for insurance once the flow is stopped.
Then call a plumber
We stabilize the leak, repair or replace the damaged section, and help you understand if freeze, corrosion, or a failed fitting caused it — useful for prevention and claims conversations.
